Homeowner had a minor leak in their kitchen around a skylight for about a month. They decided to hold on the repair since it was so minimal... During a serious storm, they experienced water pouring from the same section of the skylight. When Smart Care went out we noticed the homeowner had lifted shingles around the skylight. 

Solution: Remove lifted shingles and plywood around skylight, install new shingles in designated areas around skylight, clean & seal around skylight perimeter (to ensure skylight is water tight), and clean up w/debris removal.

A Danbury homeowner called due some very serious leaks he was having on a flat roof section of his home he was considering changing to EPDM along with needing a new roof. Some areas leaked so bad during the rain that they had to use buckets to catch the water. When Smart Care went out, the homeowner spoke about considering EPDM roofing on the flat roof area as well as options for new roofing that would look best next to EPDM. We came up with a permanent solution to correct his roof leak and curb appeal.

Solution: Remove all existing layers of roofing as well as flat roof section. Inspect sheathing and replace where needed, install 1/2 fiber board on flat roof (if no glue-able surface exists), install .60 mil EPDM on flat roof area only. Ice & water protective rubber will be installed on entire roof deck. GAF Tiger Paw vapor barrier will be installed on entire roof surface, aluminum white edging on roof perimeter and roof will be installed using GAF Lifetime shingle Pewter Grey). During installation vent pipe boots will be installed, GAF Cobra vent will be installed where needed. Dumpster will be provided by Smart Care, clean up and debris removal.

This Monroe homeowner called stating she needed new flashing around her windows and vinyl siding due to some leaks she's noticed. When Smart Care went out to her and spoke to her regarding her concerns along with some other findings we came up with a solution.

Solution: Remove all vinyl siding on rear of home from deck to roof, inspect sheathing and trim board around windows & sliding door for possible rot (from water penetration). Silicone will be applied around slider and each window for protection. Wrap ice & water protective 2 ft around all areas of slider and windows. Reinstall siding and replace any damaged. Remove shingles around chimney, install new copper step flashing around chimney (using 16 oz. copper). Reinstall shingles around chimney with best matching color to existing. Add copper to chimney once re flashed and water proof as well. 

A homeowner called asking if we can come out and inspect the gutter system on his home before the upcoming Fall season. He wanted to ensure of proper pitch, drainage and overall maintenance. 

Solution: Replace front gutter on home with a new 5" white (re use leader), inspect remainder of gutters/leaders for missing screws (replace where needed), end caps, miters, pitch etc. Clean entire gutter system once inspected, and repair fascia board.

We received a call from a Stamford homeowner who was looking to upgrade his home from aluminum to copper gutters. When Smart Care went out to Jon we gave him a few samples to look over and here's the solution we came up.

Solution: Remove existing gutters and leaders from entire home. Install new 6" copper k style gutters and corresponding 3x4 leaders on entire home. All end caps, miters, and outlets are to be soldered (95/9). All hangers are to be 16 inches apart and all to be brass and all screws on project are to be in stainless steel. All leader drains are to be connected to underground drain system. Install copper leaf relief to the entire gutter system.

A Westport customer called in need of assistance... the cedar siding was falling off his home and wanted new gutters as well. When Smart Care met with Donald we came up with a solution for his siding issue and gutter system.

Solution: Remove existing gutters from entire home, install new 6" white aluminum k style gutters on entire home with corresponding 3x4 leaders. Install Alcoa leaf relief on entire gutter system, remove and replace damaged cedar siding on left side of home. Repair soffits on right side of home. 

We had a call come in from Tony G. stating he had a chimney leak but was unaware if he had faulty flashing or the chimney itself. When Smart Care met with Tony we came up with a solution to correct his chimney issue.

Solution: Remove existing chimney flashing and remove all shingles around chimney. Install new copper flashing and counter flashing with 16 oz. copper. All copper components will be soldered together, mason seal mortise joints and reinstall shingles in designated areas. 

We received a call from a Stratford homeowner who was interested in getting new gutters and a suggestion for where best to have the water drain. When Smart Care met with Fior we gave him a solution on his drainage issue and gutter system.

Solution: Remove existing gutters and small section of wooden gutter on rear. Install new 6" white aluminum gutters and 3x4 corresponding leaders to entire home. Install 4" PVC underground drainage system in front of home to enable left side to drain into exiting PVC system at the right corner of residence. Install flashing where needed on rear of home where wood is exposed and repair existing PVC drainage system where broken on rear of home. During gutter installation the drain pipe located to the right of garage will be moved to the opposite side of gutter and will be drained to the right of entrance.  

A Shelton homeowner called stating he'd been having some serious ice dam issues in two of the last five yrs he's been in his home. He said it occurs where the roof lines meet in the front and valleys come together. When Smart Care went out to meet with Robert, we discussed his concerns and came up with a permanent solution.

Solution: Remove all roofing from area on front left side of home, install ice & water barrier 6 ft on eaves, and remove siding from sidewall. Install ice & water barrier on roof and sidewall (12" approx). Install copper raised seam metal roofing on eave and valley area (3 ft approx on valley), reinstall shingles, ridge vent capping etc. On rear of home remove shingles over leaking area and siding. Install 8x8 copper step flashing on sidewalls & any potential areas of leakage. Install 6" gutters and corresponding 4" leaders in the affected areas.

A Fairfield resident called stating she had a leak coming from her flat roof and was looking for other options other than shingles to correct the leak. When Smart Care met with Lynette we discussed some options she was juggling metal vs rubber and gave her our suggestion. While walking around the property and taking measurements we noticed several trees that pose as a problem to her gutter system as gave our input as well. 

Solution: Remove all layers of roofing on flat roof and install 1/2 fiber board on roof surface. Install EPDM system to entire roof and wrap with white metal edging. Clean existing gutter system on home and install Alcoa Leaf Relief

An existing Danbury customer called in stating how we've done work for her condo association and was looking forward to having some minor repairs taken care of. She expressed concerns for flashing falling off some of the roofs and birds building nests behind them. And some loose siding on a few spots on another building. When Smart Care met with Kathleen, based on our findings and her concerns this is the solution we came up with. 

Solution: Fabricate and install aluminum rake trim (where needed), repair all loose siding on all buildings. Clean entire gutter system on all buildings and inspect roofing on all buildings.

Karen B. stated that she had shingles coming off her roof due to a falling tree hitting home, however there was no current leak but like to have it repaired as well as a gutter that came down as well. When Smart Care met with Karen we came up with a solution for her repair since her roof was still in great shape.

Solution: Repair and replace where needed any damaged shingles in designated area (Charcoal). Install new gutters on upper left side of home.

A New Canaan homeowner had a leak in his gutter system in a few different areas and would like someone to inspect it to see if it needed to be replaced and wanted to add leaf guard as well. When Smart Care met with Ben we discussed his concerns and came up with a solution to correct his problem.

Solution: Clean all gutters and leaders on entire home. Reseal all miters, outlets, end caps etc on entire home. Check entire gutters system for proper pitch using level. Replace any damaged gutters and miters as discussed and install Alcoa Leaf relief to entire gutter system. 

We received a call from a homeowner who expressed his concern over an occasional leak that only occurred during heavy/extensive rain and snow fall. He stated water was coming through the window frame of his home and he noticed water spots on his ceiling. It had gotten to the point he had to replace the plaster on his walls due to water damage and had no clue where the leak originates from.

When Smart Care met with Shawn we came up with a solution to correct his leak. 

Remove all existing layers of roofing on entire home, Inspect sheathing and replace where needed. Ice & Water protective rubber will be installed 36" on eaves, valleys, chimneys, skylights and low pitch areas. 15 lb Tarpaper will be installed on entire roof, white drip edge will be installed, and Lifetime GAF roof shingle will be used (color to be chosen by homeowner). During shingle installation vent pipe boots will be installed and ridge vent where needed. Install 3 supreme copper step flashed custom built non-vented skylights, clean up and remove debris

We received a call from a homeowner expressing his concern over a leak coming from his chimney. 

When Smart Care met with Tony, we came up with a solution that would correct his chimney leak issue.

Remove all existing chimney flashing, remove all shingles around chimney and install copper flashing & counter flashing w/16 oz. copper. All copper components will be soldered together and mason seal mortise joint. Reinstall roof shingles, clean up and debris removal.

We received a call from a homeowner in need of a new gutter system and wanted to adjust a few gutters to drain in certain areas to due heavy ice that would form from the drainage in the Winter. 

When Smart Care met with Fior, we came up with a solution that would correct her drainage issue. 

Remove existing gutters and small section of wooden gutter on rear of home. Install 6" white aluminum k-style gutters and corresponding 3x4 leaders on entire home. Install 4" PVC underground drainage system in front of home to enable left side to drain into existing PVC system at the right corner of residence. Install flashing where needed on rear of home where wood is exposed. Repair existing PVC drainage system where broken on rear of home. During gutter installation the drain pipe located to the right of the garage door will be moved to opposite side of gutter and will be drained to the right side of entrance. We received a call from a homeowner who was referred to us by former client. He was interested in getting a quote for a new roof or repair his old one. He was also interested in new drip edge, ice shield and was experiencing some leaks in his roof. 

When Smart Care met with Christopher, we came up with a solution to correct all his concerns. 

Remove all existing layers of roofing on entire home, inspect sheathing and replace where needed. Ice & Water protective rubber will be installed 36" on eaves, valleys, chimneys, skylights and low pitch areas. Gutters to be removed and re-installed for proper Ice & Water application. GAF Tiger Paw vapor barrier will be installed on entire roof surface. Aluminum white edging will be installed on roof perimeter. The roof will be installed using Lifetime GAF Shingle (color to be chosen by homeowner), during shingle installation vent pipe will be installed. Install GAF Cobra vent where needed and re-flash both chimneys using 16 oz. copper. Install new skylights, dumpster provided by Smart Care, clean up and debris removal. 

We received a call from a homeowner who was concerned about his gutter system, which keeps clogging up due to acorns falling. He wanted to get some type of protection.

When Smart Care met with Paul, we came up with a solution which would correct the issue he was having with gutter system.

Clean existing gutter system, install Alcoa Leaf Relief on entire gutter system. Clean up and remove debris.

We received a call from a homeowner who had gutters that were damaged on the front side of home and wanted to explore options for new gutters.

When Smart Care met with Tj, after discussing his many options for a new gutter system, we came up with a solution for his home.

Remove all gutters and leaders from entire home. Install new 6" Bronze k style leaders on entire home (6" recommended due to very steep roof). Install corresponding 3x4 leaders on entire home. Install Alcoa Leaf Relief on entire gutter system, clean up and remove debris. 

We received a call from a homeowner stating he observed a leak through his attic. The drywall below was wet and leaks with heavy rainfall. 

When Smart Care met with Brian we came up with a solution to correct the leak Brian was experiencing.

Inspect area on roof where leakage is occurring. Remove faulty pipe boot and install a new 3" pipe boot. Add Ice & Water protective rubber around new pipe boot. Replace shingles with best matching color & thickness. Repair any loose or damaged shingles in immediate area to secure proper roof performance. Clean gutter system and immediate area of roof leakage to ensure the overflowing of the gutters aren't adding to existing roof problem. 40' ladder will be needed, clean up and remove debris. 

We received a call from a homeowner stating she had a few leaks coming from the back area of her home closer to the corner but was unaware of the source.

When Smart Care met with Leah, we came up with a solution due to her having cracks in her chimney.

Inspect chimneys and flashing for imperfections (2 in total). Seal any masonry issues with mason sealant: includes cracks, holes etc. Repair flashing where needed by cleaning and soldering where needed, clean up and remove debris. 

We received a call from a homeowner who's home still had the original roof on it, and would like to look into other roofing options instead of the traditional asphalt shingles. 

When we met with Leah, we discussed several options for roofing and came up with a solution for her. She's was thrilled to have such clear communication since a roof replacement can be a scary task.

Clean up and debris removal at the end of each shift 

We received a call from a homeowner stating he was seeing stains on the ceiling of his dining room and would like an inspection to be done on his roof.

When Smart Care met with the homeowner, we came up with two different types of options for him.

A roof inspection was done at his home and revealed damaged and missing shingles.

Option 1: Remove shingles and flashing around chimneys (2 in total). Install new shingles tabs, flashing's and any necessary woodwork needed (painting of interior included). Clean up and debris removal.

Option 2: Remove all existing layers of roofing on entire home. Inspect sheathing and replace where needed (2 pieces of plywood included in pricing). Ice & water protective barriers will be installed 36" on rakes, eaves, chimneys, skylights and low pitch areas. GAF Tiger Paw will be installed on entire roof surface. Aluminum white edging will be installed on roof perimeter, roof will be installed using HD Lifetime GAF shingles (color chosen by homeowner). During installation vent pipes will be installed, GAF Cobra vent will installed where needed. Re flash chimney using 16 oz. copper (2 in total). Clean up and debris removal at the end of each day.
